Infrastructure
Mpower1 retains or employs technical and operational staff with a wide range of expertise in software, design, sales, account management, finance and administration.
These staff members are frequently utilized to complement and supplement Mpower1’s subsidiary business operations.
Professional Partners
Mpower1 are supported on a day-to-day basis by the resources of a City of London law practice and an accounting practice.
The principals of both operations are available to Mpower1 to provide advice and guidance as required. In addition, the principals’ experience in growing companies’ international presence has resulted in access to a network of professionals around the world.
Ian Leeper
Ian Leeper brings a wide breadth of operational and executive knowledge to Mpower1. Until August 1999, Ian was joint Managing Director of Global Financial Systems (“GFS”).
Prior to founding GFS in 1991, Ian was Managing Director of the European subsidiary of Management Technologies Inc. (“MTI”). Originally joining MTI in 1984 as Technical Services Manager, after three years he moved to New York to manage a large-scale development for a Canadian bank. Before joining MTI, Ian spent two years with Willis Faber, a leading global risk management firm, and seven years with IBM. In 2002 Ian Co-founded Mpower1.
Pete Loveless
Mpower1 benefits from Pete Loveless' wealth of operational experience managing and supporting each of the company’s separate businesses. Pete’s experience extends through the complete software lifecycle from new start-up projects to managing established operations. Pete has held various senior management positions before joining the Mpower1 team including fulfilling the roles of Managing Director for both of the Financial Objects Division’s (activebank
& IBIS/S2). Pete was the Operations Director of
an international banking software company prior
to Financial Objects.
Malcolm Carroll
Mpower1 benefits from Malcolm Carroll’s strong sales and management experience. Malcolm and Ian Leeper were joint owners and joint Managing Directors of Global Financial Systems (“GFS”), a highly successful supplier of banking systems to the European and U.S. markets. In August 1999, GFS was sold to Financial Objects.
Prior to founding GFS in 1991, Malcolm was Sales Director of Management Technologies Inc. and was responsible for all sales in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Previously, Malcolm spent five years with General Electric in their computer services division, GEISCO, and prior to that at Dupont
where he spent five years. In 2002, Malcolm
Co-founded Mpower1.
Simon Theobald
A highly experienced senior executive, Simon Theobald has developed unique industry and management skills gained in business and IT over the last 25 years. His experience ranges from being integral in the implementation of the first payment card systems in the UK to successfully leading as Chief Executive Officer, a multi-million pound public (NASDAQ) software company. Through the successful implementation of a strategic business plan, Simon guided this company from recording annual losses to achieving significant recurring revenue (turnover) growth within a closely managed cost structure, plus consistently improved positive net margins leading to positive cash flow. In 2002 Simon Co-founded Mpower1.
Previously, Simon was invited to be joint founding member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organisation (YEO)
for the UK. Simon served on the committee and as
head of ‘Forum’.
